MULBERRY has launched the Tessie collection, the first to fall in line with the brand’s new wave of more affordable accessories.
“The Tessie collection was inspired by the effortless practicality of our early collections, when each new bag was created with a use in mind,” a Mulberry representative told us. “We think the styles are both classic and practical, each finished with belt buckle and strap detailing that references our early design signatures.”
The launch is the first since the departure of the label’s CEO Bruno Guillon, who left the label in March after a two-year tenure at the helm. Godfrey Davis, the brand’s non-executive chairman and previous CEO, is currently acting as the executive chairman until a successor is found. The brand has been without a creative director since Emma Hill left in June 2013.
The original Bayswater bag has become a staple of the Mulberry range and now it has been re-envisaged with a revamped design as a double zipped tote bag in new season colours. The fundamental shape and feel of the bag is very close to the original, but it manages to stand out as something new and exciting thanks to the two zipped compartments, instead of the original singular compartment.
It is ideal for multi-functional practicality and would make a particularly good businesswoman bag. It maintains characteristic Bayswater detailing, such as the double buckle straps, embossed leather key fob and signature postman’s lock and is completed with a total of seven different compartments, including one internal zip and two internal slip pockets.
Under Johnny Coca’s creative direction, it should come as no surprise that the tote bag is available in chic colours such as oxblood, clay, oak, fiery red and black. If you are looking for extra ‘oomph’, opt for the luxe variations of paneled zebra haircalf and meticulously-crafted snakeskin. The ‘Zipped Bayswater’ is also available in a smaller version with detachable shoulder straps, taking your look from AM to PM.
We’ve been anticipating the retail arrival of former Céline accessories director Johnny Coca’s first bags as the creative director at Mulberry since he was hired, and their day has finally come. A selection of the bags are available for purchase on Mulberry’s website now, and fans of the brand will probably be relieved to know that their prices are in line with the old incarnation of Mulberry with which everyone fell in love.
There’s a lot of the most wearable parts of Céline in these bags, but unlike so many brands who have simply tried to recreate the magic of its luxurious, woman-focused minimalism, Mulberry went out and hired the man who pioneered that look in Céline’s bags, shoes, sunglasses, jewelry and small accessories. It’s a move that’s paid off, and if these bags eventually sell at a price point that’s more in line with Mulberry’s prices before the company hired a CEO from Hermès, prices skyrocketed and everything went sideways, I can see a lot of fans returning to the brand, as well as new customers shopping Mulberry for the first time.
Bag lovers will see the Céline influence in the details of these bags, but not in an unpleasant way; they’re uniformly chic, functional and wearable, and they’re the kind of designs that won’t look at all dated in a season or two. All in all, a very solid opening for Coca.
Perhaps you’ve already seen this clutch somewhere else from a different angle, but no snapshot can capture so much details like the one you see on the top.
Before we go into the ‘boy’ , I want to tell you a little bit more about the story of the Quality Chanel CC Golden Clutch Bag first. This luxury clutch bag is decorated with golden CC all around the body, which makes it so rich and luxurious. It’s finalized with an interwoven chain link, also in gold and even the leather strap. It should be made from plexi glass, which is a strong material.
A transparent clutch bag from the Cruise 2015 Collection, embellished with light gold CC logos on the sides and crafted with a rectangle shape. The strap is shining brighter than the sun and on the top you will find a chic charm, which you can wrap around your hand and carry it around and flaunt.
This clutch is made for the special occasions; it goes like a diamond stone with a wedding dress. And for the times when you need to create an impact, an impression, this clutch will be your evening companion – all the way to the end of the night.
Finally, we want to give some attention to the special Jerry Can Bag, I am serious; this is its real name. Chanel has already featured several designs on the catwalk, including one that’s entirely in gold and made from lambskin. You can glance more pictures at Chanel Cruise 2015 Collection. So, what do you think?
